Yegor Semyonov, a native of Melitopol, has been accused by the FSB of committing a terrorist act and high treason. According to Kommersant, the criminal case will be considered on the merits by the Southern District Military Court. At the same time, the investigation of the criminal case against the organizers of the terrorist attack continues - it was separated into a separate proceeding. During the investigation, Yegor Semenov partially admitted his guilt.
According to the investigation, he contacted representatives of the SBU and agreed to poison graduates of the Armavir Higher Military Aviation School for 400.000 rubles, which he intended to spend on a vacation in Egypt.
According to the prosecution, Semyonov, planning the poisoning, purchased 200 vials of cordiamine in the form of a solution and poured the medicine into the cake and alcohol.
A banquet in honor of the 20th anniversary of one of the graduates of the Armavir Higher Military Aviation School was held at the Tsarskaya Okhota restaurant in Armavir on October 20, 2023, about 80 people were present in the hall. Semyonov, introducing himself as a courier, brought a multi-tiered cake with the emblem of the aviation school, as well as a large batch of alcoholic beverages - 76 bottles of Jameson whiskey and 40 bottles of Kochari cognac. He explained that this gift was allegedly handed over by one of the graduates, who himself could not come to the meeting.
The banquet participants cut the cake, but did not try it, as it smelled of medicines.
