💛 Ukrainian karateka Maria Gnes refused to shake hands with a russian girl

In the final of the World Karate Federation (WKF) tournament, which is taking place in Venice, in the 16-17 age category, Maria Gnes lost by a narrow margin to “neutral” athlete Veronika Gashnikova (3:4).

After the award ceremony, the Ukrainian refused to have a joint photo with Gashnikova and, despite the appeals of the organizers, left the podium. Maria Gnes' father is defending Ukraine from the occupiers in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Anna Vashchishin also joined Maria’s protest; the Ukrainian received bronze in this category.
