President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine had offered Slovakia assistance during its adaptation to the absence of Russian gas transit, but “Fico arrogantly refused”
“This was an obvious mistake by Fico—hoping that his shadowy schemes with Moscow would last forever,” Zelensky wrote.
He added that choosing Moscow over one’s own country, Europe, and common sense was a losing bet from the start.
Zelensky expressed hope that diversifying energy supply sources in Europe, cooperation with the European Commission, and Trump’s plan to increase U.S. gas deliveries to Europe would “help address the challenges caused by the shortsightedness of certain European leaders”.
