🇨🇳 China expands global influence amid USAID suspension, Politico reports.

USAID is the world’s largest donor, and China is looking to fill the gap while the agency remains inactive. Chinese officials have approached Nepal’s government, offering to replace USAID funding with their own, and similar moves are expected in other countries.

The dismantling of USAID could have long-term consequences for U.S.-China global competition. Analysts urge the U.S. administration to reform the agency rather than dissolve it, warning that otherwise, Beijing could seize a massive sphere of influence.
