"To whom much is given, much is expected" is found in Luke 12:48.

White text on a red background that reads: 'FYI: We are not in debt because seniors get Social Security and Medicare. We are not in debt because single moms get food stamps. We're in debt because the rich dodge their taxes.'

@TheOldGuy We are in debt because a long time ago the rich lawmaking politicians realised that it if they set things up correctly they could lend their excess wealth to the govt (ie themselves), get a guaranteed dividend and keep their capital safe and at the same time reduce the tax they pay on that wealth and income. The debt will never be repaid, it was never meant to be.

@TheOldGuy we have inequality because the system benefits the wealthy. They shouldn’t have so much wealth. The debt just means the feds have spent more into the economy than they have removed. Which means more left in the economy. The issue should be “how” $ are spent and “for whom” and the possibility or not of inflation.

Belgium confiscates over 50℅ of what is produced in a year. Yet we are deep in debt. There is no amount of taxes to satisfy ever expanding bureaucracies

@TheOldGuy meh. not how the national debt actually works. We're in debt because Republicans keep gambling on things using the country's economy like it's a credit card to pay off their debt to the casinos issuing credit.

Different countries, same problems! Why ? Because even being greedy and egotistical human, nothing more !
