🚨Italy is shut down today in a massive 24-hour general strike led by grassroots unions USB, CUB, ADL, and SGB. Workers demand an end to Italian arms sales to Israel, sanctions, and justice for Palestine, tying Gaza solidarity to housing, welfare, and workplace safety.

➤ Trains, buses, ports, highways, schools, and shops are halted, with millions on strike.

➤ Over 60 rallies and blockades hit Rome, Milan, Bologna, Naples, Genoa, Turin, Florence, Bari, and Palermo.

➤ Genoa and Livorno ports are blocked, trains in Rome disrupted, Milan’s M4 metro closed, Bologna students walk out.

➤ Unions demand Italy cut all ties with Israel to stop the Gaza genocide.

➤ The strike coincides with the Global Sumud Flotilla, joined by Greta Thunberg, sailing aid to Gaza to break Israel’s siege.

@TheOldGuy it was honestly really nice to see how in Rome there was no particular mess being caused. there definitely were plenty of people downtown but they were educated and protestated in the way they had to.
