@TwoDogs Though you do need to follow a whole bunch of people if you want an active Home feed. The other feeds have a high noise to signal ratio unless you choose a small instance, and then they can be quite insular.
@level98 Good point. You mean I need to put in effort 😁
@TwoDogs 😀
@level98
BTW, thinking about STEM taught via mandatory Science in school (yrs 7 - 10), re post today by Geraint speaking at STEM 2022, and concerns expressed that Astronomy may be dropped from the curriculum!
In your view, is Geography a science or social science?
To me it seems that Geography wants to be perceived as a Science. If that is the case, then why is Geography a mandatory subject in addition to Science for yrs 7-10?
@TwoDogs IMO, good question... but also, "geography" tends to not know what it is. It veers between e.g. geology, anthropology and social studies. While, of course, there's no hard boundary between any two topics, geography tends to be particularly nebulous.
@level98 I'm OK with that, but I question the need for Geography to be mandatory. When I was at school it was mandatory for yr 7, OK that's ancient history and things move on, but if this means that the science curriculum gets trimmed, grrrrr.
I remember when my daughter was learning Geography in yr 8 or 9, she found if frustrating because of the doubling-up of topics taught with science that year. From my perspective teaching science, I was a bit annoyed that Geography was not teaching science the way we would -> misinterpretations.
@TwoDogs Just reply, post have conversations. Pretty much the same as elsewhere. 😀
