The left isn't left enough for me.
It should seek to end prejudiced behaviour and systems of oppression, not invert them.

@light

Not exactly.

The far left is so far to the left that it's hopped the horseshoe gap. It's too left, so it's indistinguishable from the far right.

Meanwhile, the moderate left is genuinely left-wing. It reject bigotry instead of embracing a different flavor of it.

@TruthSandwich @light I too love drinking broccoly and warbling the garble.
Sure are a lot of horse shoes here, but are they relevant?

@admitsWrongIfProven

So @light blocked me for responding to their complaint that the left needs to be more radical. My point was that the radical left is, due to horseshoe fact, indistinguishable from the radical right.

Consider Tulsi Gabbard or Jimmy Dore or Matt Taibbi. They were far left, now they're Trumpers.

@TruthSandwich @light I looked up the first one, since as a non-us-citizen i know none of those people.
What i see on wikipedia (should generally be correct?) does nothing to convince me i would consider her "left".
This theory might be applicable among people that use "left" very liberally, but none of those people interest me. They won't do anything useful in any case.

Now Bernie for example, he has good ideas, by which i identify him as "left", and the theory does not fit at all.

If you insist on calling those others "left", we cannot use the word because i use a different definition.

So i repeat my question, "So?"

@admitsWrongIfProven @light

Tulsi was fully embraced by the American far left as one of their own.

She sat on the board of Bernie's foundation right up until her inevitable heel turn, after which she was summarily removed from the list without explanation. And, yes, her allegiance changed while her views remained the same.

This is the reality of socialist populists; they're closer to fascist populists than to moderates.

@TruthSandwich @light I still just see a person making decisions we both see as wrong.
If you let anyone just label themselves as something they are not or no longer, the result will always be that any group can be cast as bad by someone maliciously declaring themselves to be a part.

I do not see any use for that horseshoe. To see that what us democrats do is not good enough to actually improve anything needs no horseshoe. And calling the party in its entirety "left" is just absurd. US americans lack perspective there.

@admitsWrongIfProven @light

No decision was made. Tulsi didn't change one bit in terms of the policies she supported. She was a fan of Modi and Assad and other anti-democratic forces all along.

The far left and far right agree on far more than they disagree. There's a reason why Bernie and AOC are soft on Russia.

@TruthSandwich @light Maybe there is a reason, but it is not of any concern to me. I have no expectations of these individuals improving anything relevant, so they can be wrong in this or that way, i don't care.

If bernie sanders was not what i think he is from the news coverage, it matters little. As far as i understand he once won the primaries but was undemocratically not made presidential candidate. So if your system is that broken, there is no hope anything withing the system will stop the humanity wide suicidal actions (fossil fuel, wasting energy, etc.).

I get the idea you are discussing matters that are already closed for me for different reasons.
