Double the noise, still better than appliances that want to have internet access. The break-even is when you'd rather have no appliance at all.
@admitsWrongIfProven Those dial timers sound like a loudass half-electronic half-mechanical doorbell, though. Serves me right for fiddling with them trying to set back the damn 4th clock in the kitchen
