I asked a German-Speaking influencer who advocates for AI to their viewers and other influencers, whether they are aware, how harmful AI is to the environment.
Their answer was they havent't flown long-distance (neither have I) don't drive a car (neither do I) and own a good chunk of re-used electronics (fair, I don't, but I also try to absolutely minimize the number of devices I own) and therefore harm the environment less than the average person.
Ok, so how is advocating for a barely useful technology justified by you being personally a good boy?

@CorvidCrone Yeah, they do seem like they are good people, but got really pulled into the hype.
Probably not helpful, that they were apparently a pretty prominent conspiracy theorist and activist before covid.

@leomas hmm, not sure that they are based on how they rationalize the ecological consequences of AI
