@admitsWrongIfProven On a good day I catch myself with just that kind of thinking, and 5 seconds later I scold myself for what a vain schmock I am. (Raised catholic in Bavaria. Guys like Matt Murdock life rent free in my soul garden.)

@molosovsky I'm lucky to be looks-relativist. That dehumanizing absolutist view luckily never caught on to me, both introspectively and when viewing others. Some people i find attractive, some not. Some find me attractive, some not.

@admitsWrongIfProven I am most of the time just confused that there are so many different kinds of beauty in the first place. Plus: I don’t know if I am too self-conscious or lack any consciousness regarding my looks. Settled a long time ago with a kind of thankfulness, that I am a funny bone.

@molosovsky Practically, one's view of the self is only relevant in a "how does this make my personality feel for others" kind of way regarding attractivenes to others. The looks decision is theirs anyway.

Ofc negative self-image is hurtful, i can see that. But a different topic than attractiveness to others.
