Economy twitter organizing their orderly exit with a new instance at econtwitter.net featuring already @bengoa_marta and @dinapomeranz among others. Yowza!

@albertcardona That's the way to go, organizations having their own instances!

@trinsec Indeed the more I learn about the the more good sense it makes. Down to each institution having a website also being able to fire up their own instance, provide accounts to its own employees only, using it for internal announcements and discussions, and then enabling departing employees to take their account with then elsewhere. I mean it’s brilliant.

@trinsec Has a feel of IRC (chat rooms being instances, independent moderation) with each participant having a blog with RSS feeds, enmeshed with the comment system of said blog, and an upvote system of sorts from early social media of yore. Hard to describe in terms of known quantities: the is something else and fulfils multiple needs simultaneously and elegantly.

@albertcardona And, improtantly, no pesky algorithm deciding what you should see.

@trinsec Indeed. One should engage with social media deliberately, and the seems built for that.
