Hey friends, anyone here configured (and possibly wrote about!) a #synapse#matrix server on gnu #guix? I'm having a hard time. It doesn't help that it's my first time installing synapse by hand and I'm also pretty new to guix ...
@crodges not sure what guix brings to the table here: #synapse installs quite easily just with #pip — just be aware of using wheels, it simplifies the process, although it is not required.
@aluaces not with synapse at the moment, no. I'm aware that it installs nicely with pip - but I'm not inclined to manage the package with python, specially when guix have such a great package management system. If I can't make it work yes, I could move to pip, but so far I'm making good progress, now configuring reverse proxy. Thanks for the tip about wheels, I'll check it out .
