Insurance is such a scam.

"You're protected*"

* Except you have to ship everything that was damaged to us, at your cost.

* And you only have ten days to do so.

* And first you have to pay to get an independent repair cost estimate for everything. Like who even does that nowadays?

* And if they do pay out, they will only pay what the going price is on eBay or Craigslist (!?)

* And the insurance is void if the power spike was longer than 1 ms.

2/2 Cont...

* Oh, and and you have to prove that you don't have any other insurance or warranties, and if you do, that insurance or warranty has to pay out first, and you have to do all this within 10 days.

* You also have to hire an electrician to prove that your grounding is properly installed.

* They want how long you used each piece of equipment.

* Oh, and you have to prove that the damage was caused by their product not doing what they claim it does.

What a rude joke.

@ve7fim I've learned not to get the extended warranty and to take things out of the box and plug them in while still at the registers at Best Buy.
