I have no strong feelings about adding QTs, one way or the other, but I *do* block people who are assholes about newcomers wanting them

@mtrkdjoyce for the folks who where here before the Musking of the Bird, it is like someone who joins your congregation having left a very toxic one, but then starts complaining that your church isn't upholding "biblical values" like their old one did.

I honestly don't think it is too much to ask us noobs to take 6 months or a year to get to know the place before we ask for changes.

@antares I very much don’t believe that prior users of a service get a bigger vote than new ones, and I don’t think the idea that QTs are toxic is at all self-evident. The defensiveness against any perception by newcomers that anything about Twitter might have been better than anything about Mastodon gets very tiresome. (Speaking of a general trend, not you)
