@transportevolved there is a very important mechanism for fueling vehicles that most EV drivers overlook, paying by cash.

Go to many gas stations and you will find people lining up to buy a day's fuel for $20 they earned. They often lack bank accounts and credit cards and they are disproportionately people of color regardless of income level.

@scerruti @transportevolved so far, following Tesla's lead, fast charging stations have been unstaffed. Cash transactions require a cashier, or at the very least a technician to clear the vending machine a few times a day. For gas sales this was not an added cost because you already needed an attendant present whenever the pumps were on for safety reasons. I wonder if there is an economical way to put an attendant at an fastcharger without significantly increasing the cost.

@antares @transportevolved this is why I was excited about 7-eleven and Circle K partnerships. But 7-eleven required an app. Not sure about Circle K or Buckees.

It would be nice if you could buy a prepaid Electrify America card in Walmart. Alternatively some gas stations (like ARCO) have a payment terminals that take cash.
