I don't like the phrase "soft skills".

Getting a bunch of people to work together, do what they're supposed to, and not drive everyone up the wall?

That's not soft. That's fucking HARD.

@nikki soft is not the opposite of "hard" as in difficult, soft is the opposite of concrete as in measurable. You can put a test in front of me in a job interview to see if I can apply Ohms laws to circuit diagram and others should all agree whether I passed or failed. It is much harder to determine by a brief test upon which the result are clear if I can work in a team setting.

@antares @nikki But that's just corpo lingo anyway. To be fair corporations seem to have immense problems with those skills since they keep throwing "team building exercises" at you instead of I don't know, not create a toxic environment?

@antares @nikki I’m going to suggest a primary soft skill might be joke recognition.
