@kevinrns You wrote, "Unneeded, Unused, Underground." However plastics are a significant contributor to GHG emissions.
The OECD [writes](https://www.oecd.org/environment/plastics/increased-plastic-leakage-and-greenhouse-gas-emissions.htm), "Beyond the hazards posed to the marine and terrestrial environment as well as to humans, plastics are also a substantial contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions. In 2019, plastics generated 1.8 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions – 3.4% of global emissions – with 90% of these emissions coming from their production and conversion from fossil fuels."
To phase our Fossil Fuels, we need to think beyond replacing energy generation.
We must build all the New Energy systems as fast as tanks for war. But not for war. For children and forests and farms. And the water cycle,
If we do, if we are, if carbon fuels are ending, all things are possible. Civilization can begin. Finally.
This clarifies it in my eyes, if the earth was doomed, an asteroid extincition level event was coming and we had time to build ships to try and live off earth, and we had 11 years, then building those ships would have a priority above all things.
Building all the New Energy is like that, only on reversem we are saving the earth not quitting. If we dont, we dont make it,
Building the new energy is that priority, but of course feed, play with kids too.
And . . .
Canada thinks it can sell and burn its over 172 billion barrels of oil, is more than counting on it, has spent, is spending, 10s of billions on increasing export capaciity and sales. It is expanding oil pumping offshore.
We must end the market and the dark dream of burning more fossil fuel.
That means build the New Enetgy now, all of it, now.
Amnd we can, and its cheapest to it now, do it fast.
@antares
Not to argue, but did you think my post was about "banning oil"?
Its about building new clean energy sources, so carbon isn't burned as an energy source. Its cheap, cheaper than carbon, its everywhere, not geo-blocked, and doesn't feed wars.
Canada burned 30 Billion Trees.
A pound of carbon is 4.5 pounds of CO2 if burned. If you dont burn carbon, you dont make Carbon dioxide, you aren't rolling the window up on your daughter in the parked car.
