#hugo is a static site generator. To start follow the install guide. Then choose a theme and save it as a git submodule in the themes/<theme-name> directory and update the theme property in the config file.
Most of the times one can just use the git theme repository as the git submodule. Though some themes come with a set of templates and thereby one will need to be knit picky.
If the setup was done correctly one should see the theme go into effect instead of the blank hugo server page.
Most themes have a specific way how they create layouts which includes folder structure. The easiest way to see this in effect is to view the folder structure within the theme’s example site. Later one will learn the #golang and understand it via the HTML layouts.
