Reminder to my fellow north Europeans: southern Europe is there all year round, you don't *have* to go there in July, and your kids won't hate you if you have a #staycation in northern Europe instead. In fact, they'll probably be delighted that the rain and low temperatures force them to stay inside playing computer games and baking cakes

I feel like south Europe is better enjoyed outside of the summer months. First one is not baked alive, temperatures above 35°C and second, less tourists and cheaper prices plus the temperatures are more manageable under 30°C.

That is why I am delaying my trip south due to the high temperatures.
