@blueplanetslittlehelper i was more thinking of that if you act unfriendly and respectless, you will earn the same. if you are kind, people will be kind. if you respect (people, not things like "authority"), people will respect you.
you of course should show unconditional love to children, few things are as evil as the old silence treatment. same goes for respect.
@bonifartius Maybe. But ppl are mostly unfriendly and respectless when sth is wrong, so reacting in kind would power the spiral further and help no-one. Esp for children: I read years ago "Love me when I deserve it the last because then I need it the most" that was my guide regarding my children, in addition to Kloethers.
But I think even adults aren't maliciously unkind/respectless - they don't know better, feel unsure, tired or sick etc. Even then better show kindness or ignore it imO
