ok, i think people are just too stupid in this age of time for me to stomach.

yesterday i read something about https not working via tor.

today i read that UFoI is deciding which instances you can block, which is obviously bullshit.

you can block everyone you like, you can't be a member of UFoI if you block other UFoI instances though. the only thing gained by UFoI is the privilege of not being randomly defederated by other members in exchange for agreeing to common moderation rules.

nobody forces you to be a member. you can leave at any time. UFoI is the exact reverse of the bullshit fediblock blacklist approach where you start to block people for not blocking the right people. UFoI is a whitelist.

you can just not participate in UFoI if you don't like it and lose nothing.

an overly hard concept for the philosophical zombies.

Oh wait thats the default XD

Lustig wie die alle "Geschichte" selber durchmachen müssen.

@bonifartius what does that "ufol" even means? sounds like "you fall" to me.

@iron_bug ufoi.org . freemo had the idea for it because of some fediblock people were spreading lies as usual.

it's a non defederate agreement with common moderation rules. essentially it's "don't be an asshole" and "leave people alone of they tell you to". i'm not a big fan of moderation in general, but it is the most sensible approach i've seen here, precisely as it is a whitelist and not a blacklist like fediblock etc.

@shuro
ufoi.org/ says 21 instances. previously the instances were listed. some people stirred shit and harassed the owners of these instances and now they are hidden.
