3 year warranty.
Before 2012 all WD hdds were warrantied 5 years even the low cost, since 2012 they changed everything only the high ends are warrantied 5 years. Just check the website with the model you want.
And worse of all is that they'll only last five years, I still have pre 2012 hdds running fine without any issues.

i have some 1T wd reds which are fine so far but i don't know the year right now.
was bitten by seagate in the past, but those were desktop drives. still abysmal fail rate.

@bonifartius @SuperDicq They do have a higher warranty of 3 years than the other ones.
I really hate what WD did after the floods in Thailand, the worst part is that someone actually investigated to see if the market at the time had legitimate prices fluctuations and it turns out NO, it was all a orchestrated with WD and Seagate to maximize yet again their profits. Worse than that WD choose to fuck it's entire quality under the cover of the floods so ti wouldn't seem that they're the ones being pieces of shit.

Seagate is 99% of all drives that I saw fail.for wd hard drive failure it was often the defacto hdd in laptops, other than that I had never had a failure of a wd hdd pre 2012, post 2012 it's almost like seagate except for high end.
