@hn50 inb4 it gets banned, users who use it their accounts deleted and github bans all repos of it.

just get a $10 seedbox.

music is art, @bonifartius, and rush art thou canst not

say no to seedbox and leech behind nat, there are albums that suddenly started downloading again after years of being idle

@xarvos @cnx problem is that torrent in germany on home connection will instantly cost you hundreds of euros for lawyers ;)

i usually let things seed for long time as long as space permits, especially when it took a long time to download for myself.

i do buy music as well if i like it. there most of the money goes to the artist instead of a streaming service - which started on torrented music afaik ;)

My condolences, @bonifartius, Germany seems like a horrible place to use the web. I wonder if they implant seeders for most torrents, otherwise do they just file blanket lawsuits upon any arbitrary usage of the protocol?

Regarding the seedbox thing, @xarvos, it was mainly about the Debian reference, escalated to the I exist beyond space and time thing. ISP are highly centralized in most countries anyway, although personally I’d rather buy non-DRM music. For most it doesn’t make a practical difference though, since music taste peaks in our teenage years when we were broke and incapable of international purchases.

@cnx @xarvos it's a weird german thing where lawyers can do written warnings, which is the whole business of some lawyers. they just actively search people torrenting, not having an imprint according to the law, etc. and send written warnings with a bill for some hundred euros attached.
