I don't think it's beneficial or "liberating" to sell obesity as something great. There's no reason to shame obese people, but there's also no reason to celebrate obesity.

It has been said that the tableau had nothing to do with Christianity. That it celebrated Greek deities, as the Olympic Games originated in Greece.
Yea... "Greek". Which time period exactly? Which region? Which deity?

'm pretty sure that the Olympic Games had NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING in common with the Bacchanalia.
(By the way, the Bacchanalia took place in ancient Rome, just sayin'.)
I believe that Greek athletes of the ancient Olympic Games would have turned away from the ancient Bacchanalia in horror.
And the ancient followers of Bacchus would also have turned away from this modern recreation with even more horror, I reckon.

i know some of my late relatives would just be sincerely sad about this. not even angry, but sad someone does this. sometimes their faith was the only thing mentally helping them and now it's mocked. it's repulsive.
i'm pissed that seemingly every cultural heritage is protected from shit like this but the european heritage. be it last supper or feast of the gods. it can be mocked and insulted and twisted into bizarre things and if someone dares to criticize it he's evil, against "progress" and should be happy to not be canceled and debanked.
the same kind of assholes are painting stongehenge for their shit political ideology.
those people have no respect for what my ancestors, remote and close, did and which values they had but at the same time want to be respected and have pride. if you base culture on mockery of the existing instead of newly created beauty it will not end well.

The tableau was arranged like The Last Supper by Da Vinci, period.
I'm not baptized and I'm not religious.
What bothers me is that Jesus embodies certain values, and I find it creepy that he and these values have been replaced by a extremely made-up (= fake) obese person in tasteless clothes.
The obese people I know don't think their fat is great. They suffer from health issues and a poor quality of life.
