because i complained about this and now know better:

he certainly isn't without fault but musk followed through with his promise of painting starlink satellites dark to reduce visibility. might still not be great for astronomy but i never have seen a train since 2020 or so. i can view the night sky AND have the option for broadband connection via satellite for a competitive price. which actually is an option i might consider at one point.

judging by how the state has acted all my life, if starlink was their project they'd have called everyone pointing this issue out conspiracy theorist and nazi. they'd also paint further satellites extra reflective just out of spite. the internet would be 56kbit, cost 300€ per month and only allowed access to some select state media sites.
