What type of series (be it books, movies, or video games) do you prefer? Would you rather have a series that could theoretically go on forever (e.g Mario, Call of Duty, etc) or a series with a definitive end-point (e.g Earthbound/Mother, most book series etc.).
@bonifartius Mario works because the stories are simple and are completely isolated from any timeline. The can theoretically go on forever.
Though in terms of beloved and well known series, a lot of them either ended willingly or were just cut short due to time or financial constraints. One would argue that they would've lost their charm if they went on forever.
@xianc78@bonifartius well look at Dune; the son of the author has written a ton of books with some other guy and needless to say those are as divisive as the prequel trilogy.
