This is cool but I mean, it really seems like "we're running out of money" (they are)
@sun I checked their revenue filling and it's on average to what they used to get in the past years, aside some exceptional years where they got large grants.
@sun Note: I bet they would still have these grants if some :brain_galaxy: at MIT would know the difference between evaluating and observing.
@sun Tbh it's really frustrating to see the FSF getting so little funding's since forever compared to the quarter billion the linux foundation gets while they are themselves dependent on the fsf's work.
@mangeurdenuage @sun the fsf doesn't do much of anything these days. the linux foundation is a convenient tax shelter operation :neocat_woozy:
@icedquinn @sun

Please send me the number of your weed supplier.

@mangeurdenuage @icedquinn @sun even if FSF just keeps the spirit alive for better days it's enough for me and worth the money :ultra_fast_parrot:

@mangeurdenuage @icedquinn @sun i think things aren't as bleak as they are made to look. we have much new software licensed AGPL, GNU still works and is key, they aren't even close to replacing GNU. i use the same software i used 20 years ago, except with less bugs, as it should be.

@bonifartius @mangeurdenuage @sun most all agpl software i have seen are by VC firms selling open core
