@p it's really infuriating how brainwashed so many people are.
@Leyonhjelm This is literally the exact same fundamental flaw of capitalism and free market adherents. The ideologies are virtually the same regardless of the hypothetical antidotes being seemingly opposite. @p @bonifartius
@adiz @Leyonhjelm @p
the difference is that people can only act in good faith if they can choose to do so.
which they, by definition, can't do in collectivist systems. those are always one execution away from utopia.
@p if only they would realize that they could have infinite amount of slack cut if there was no one threatening torture and violence at all given times which is enabled by their appeasement. guess you can't force people to be happy.
GPL is based on voluntary contracts to which taxation is the polar opposite.
then, i know (as i used to think this way in the past, thanks to decades of brainwash) that in the euro mind the GPL is considered good because they regard it as "communist" and middle finger to capitalism. if i'm not mistaken taler is an european project, so that would explain the taxation fetish.
@p HA! at least we've got ROADS over here! :)
@p @bonifartius Is the "taxation fetish" part that the payee is identifiable and therefore can be taxed on income?
it's great that the taler devs develop a non shit free payment system. disabling anonymity for payment receivers is immediately wasting the effort (it's appeasement to authority to rakevin funding if you ask me). ANY state can turn full evil concentration camp mode at the blink of an eye, including the precious communist utopia.
