@genmaicha likely yeah. i really don't know how ALL the big companies fell for this obvious meme. worse than the blockchain hype.
not so sure about people not liking it, enough people seem to love it.

my assumption is they're all owned by the same small group of people, ultimately.

since the majority of people seem not to like it, it will probably go away in time, so there's no need for regulation (which often exacerbates problems like this).
