I'm watching #ItsAWonderfulLife for the first time and live-tooting my reactions.
I'm 3 minutes in and God just said "at 10:45 Earth Time."
Time zones weren't a thing yet in the 40's?
Riding shovels down a snowy hill is a level of quaint nostalgia I didn't know I needed. Quaint nostalgia is also a hallmark of Christmas movies that I will probably reflect on later. #ItsAWonderfulLife
In my naivety, I thought that the drunk doctor trope started with Star Trek. But now I'm at the part where Mr. Gower realizes what he fucked up and I kind of want to cry for him. That's kind of amazing, actually, since it's only been a couple minutes. #ItsAWonderfulLife
Am I supposed to hate Violet? I hate Violet. #ItsAWonderfulLife
The sassy Black maid is also an older trope than I realized. #ItsAWonderfulLife
I like this family dynamic so far. Having a parent that WANTED his son to follow in his footprints but then recognize he's worth more? That's sweet. It could have been used to build contention, but is actually a sweet scene. And not a mindset we traditionally set in the 40s, since we're still making movies about the opposite. #ItsAWonderfulLife
Can you actually have a swimming pool under a dance floor? With just... water in it all the time? I hope so. I love this. #ItsAWonderfulLife
I love how often George makes ritual wishes. But don't throw rocks at that beautiful house, you dick. #ItsAWonderfulLife
"I'll give you the moon, Mary."
"I'll take it."
Awwwww. <3 #ItsAWonderfulLife
I, too, aspire to be an old person that yells at young people that they're wasting their youth on brilliant dialogue instead of jumping straight to sex. #ItsAWonderfulLife
@TahaniNelson
"It was a different time."
