Some guy in my replies got bent out of shape that I made the case that journalists still need to be aware of what’s happening on Twitter, and when I tried to explain to him how journalism works, he slowly showed himself to not understand the process. Then he blocked me.

This is what the profession is up against.

As I was having this debate with this guy I reshared a post about how Chad Loder, a researcher on far-right propaganda, was removed from Twitter by Elon Musk, personally.

Tell me again how this is about follower count

From this out-of-context bit, it kinda looks like you were defending being aware of what's happening on Twitter, and they were attacking having/using Twitter accounts. Those are different things?

@ceoln I told the guy not to attack people for simply having a presence there and using it as they might be required to have one due to their jobs

@ernie
Fair enough. Is it in fact necessary to have a Twitter account in order "to be aware of what’s happening on Twitter"?

@ceoln @ernie that user was trying to make some points, but doing it in such an obnoxious way as to eliminate any hope for a useful conversation.
