Arrrgh, why the hell did I think Velux would do any better with their cloud BS than anyone else…? It’s a freaking window, ffs!
Learn from my mistakes: “Smart Home” is a scam.
App: Sure, you could let you go back to correct a setting. But isn’t it so much more fun to go through all twice or three times because of a typo?
Corporate People: Let’s have them use their phones. With an App. That’s super convenient.
Normal people: We have kids… they don’t have phones. Now, how do my kids open the windows?
Me: Yet, this is not the worst I’ve seen so far.
My experience: Let’s wait a year or two, or until they decide to relaunch the app, or drop support for 5 years old Android versions.
Gateway: One wall? Oh, that’s too much. I can’t see that window.
App: Sure, I could tell you the reason nothing is configuring. But let’s instead just leave an empty list on your phone screen with no user feedback whatsoever.
