Any recommendations on best VPNs? Free vs. Paid?
@darwish are you wanting to use it via the CLI, integrate with network manager or use a pretty user interface? Is it for a gateway or specific devices? I think a good all rounder might be NordVPN providing you don’t need to talk to customer support and just want to use simple apps. I’m not a customer but I was once.

@darwish I wouldn’t use a free one, perhaps look at Librem One, ProtonVPN. Try ProtonVPN as I believe they have a free tier but you are restricted to a couple of locations, other than that it is still the same service.
