#Movie review of "#Babylon" (2022)

Really enjoyed Damien Chazelle's "Babylon" last night, a loving look at early Hollywood. Full of laugh-out-loud moments and just cracking performances from everyone.

BUT. The critics are right, it tries to do too much, with too many characters, at times is a bit too messy. Where it features lots of homages, you might struggle to pick any one iconic scene here that would make it into a future homage.

If anything, they could have reduced this film and done a second, with the parallel story of the Black Jazz trumpeter. There was one scene in particular for him where the movie just froze on a difficult choice to be made. His movie could have shown his side of the same period. Discussed here with that actor, Jovan Adepo: cassiuslife.com/627171/jovan-a

(Personal gripe, scenes are often distractingly out of focus. This happened with First Man as well.)
