Wondering why ther's so much emphasis on a two-state solution in Israel/Palestine when it's so broken, led me to this article from earlier in the year. Authors also noted that long before the October atrocities and reaction, a storm was brewing.

"The promise of a two-state solution made sense as an alternative future in the years around the 1993 Oslo accords... But that period ended long ago. Today, it makes little sense to let fantastical visions for the future obscure deeply embedded existing arrangements."
