If people are not familar with Handmaids Tale, they need to at the very least watch the first of several episodes in that series in which the ALT R RELIGIOUS zealots gain power over the government and literally kill every single person that does not start falling in line with the new religious state. Falling in line includes all women either playing one of three roles, a wife, the maid that gets raped in front of the wife or a maid. THATS YOUR CHOICE. And if you THINK this would not happen with THIS AMERICAN TALIBAN---you would be very wrong.

@LaNaehForaday @ThomHartmann As I recall, the first few episodes just show where Offered is at that point of capture. Much more horrifying is the build up shown in flashback in later seasons: their normal lives and relationships suddenly criminalised by a religious fascist movement that was allowed to grow until it' was too powerful for individuals and the state to resist.
