You know what I would love to see in a handheld PC or a controller? Face buttons with small displays under the buttons to switch the glyphs depending on the emulator or your personal preferences.

Playing an old PlayStation title, or a recent one? The buttons use PS glyphs. Playing an old SNES game? They switch to Nintendo’s layout. Xbox or other PC game? Boom, you have the Xbox layout.

Shouldn’t draw all that much power, especially if they use something like e-Ink with a good light.

@thelinuxEXP I think this is a pretty cool idea worth exploring. I would be worried about how the displays hold under wear and tear tho, in addition to the added material cost, and OS / platform integration nightmare.

@denovocto yeah I guess it would add failure points for a benefit a lot of people wouldn’t care about.

But still I want it.
