Having a Smart TV is fucking awful. Every time I switch the HDMI between my Analogue Pocket, my Switch, or our Steam Deck, there's an apparently unskippable 40 second "Detecting device…" screen which never detects the device, after which I have to manually turn on Game Mode because there's no way to tell it "HDMI 1 uses Game mode. never disable this", every time you plug in a device is a completely new world
@falken though, upon looking again, it seems like even those TVs now have business-oriented smart features
@falken you technically can, they still make non-smart "digital signage" TVs designed for business
