If you have time, any concrete suggestions about how you would like this to work would be helpful in that discussion.
@nikclayton simplistic answers: just merge and sort each accounts timeline. Don't worry about duplicate's because each will indicate the account it came from in some subtle way e.g. background accent. Actions on a toot always go from that toots account (though option to view and change this eg with account avatar in top of compose view welcome). Alternatively allowing multiple home timeline tabs (indicate account with avatar?) is more scrolling to read them all, but better than having to fully change profiles
