@paoloredaelli and still no PTR support for IPv6 at #aws
They have this for IPv4 and until it gets feature parity can't be used for some applications, like email.
@miyuru @paoloredaelli and of course support tickets can't be raised without spending $20 quid a month, *minimum* so it's out of reach for a hobby. Given it's probably impractical to run an IPv6-only server right now, stuck paying the $4/mnth fine :(
@miyuru @paoloredaelli nope, #ipv6 reverse DNS denied by #aws "Not provided a valid/clear use case to warrant sending mail from EC2 ... Use SES"
For an existing ec2 based mail server that has never had AUP or billing issues.
So the #ipv4 charge is 🤑
@falken @paoloredaelli This is what I wrote, If that's useful.
This is from 2021, AWS support(and the world in general) has taken a nosedive since then. So your luck may vary.
@miyuru @paoloredaelli yeah, I'm gonna have to submit again and write a longer justification.
Ridiculous have to do this to get #ipv6 reverse DNS out of #aws
@miyuru @paoloredaelli oh.. a *hidden* form ?!?
https://aws-portal.amazon.com/gp/aws/html-forms-controller/contactus/ec2-email-limit-rdns-request
Let's see what happens!
#aws #geek #networking #ipv6
