@falken @frameworkcomputer It’s actually even worse than already modular desktops, because it is not modular. You can’t even upgrade the RAM or install a graphics card – something you can do since decades on desktops.
@dirk ahh. So it might be shit hot for a few years, but then it's so so and in 5 years it's e-waste?
You have to swap the whole main board plus CPU and GPU every time?

@falken @dirk @frameworkcomputer I think it hits a target group of people that are looking for something powerful that will just work for years to come without requiring much tinkering/yearly upgrades to the latest greatest tech, and isn't a Mac :D
I can see myself going for the top of the line model and just using it for 7+ years (as I've done with several much lower spec'd Thinkpads before).
When the time comes to upgrade it, chances are I'd want a whole Mainboard swap anyways because DDR5 RAM will be outdated at that point.
