I have a friend who prefers to stay anonymous who gives this amazing talk in non US (but allied) countries about how long their internet will -really- function if they lose all comms with American data centers and it’s… phew. It’s a thing. Some resilient ones will last a few weeks before certificates expire. But CF is a wrench.
I mean, notice that none of the old guard is freaking out right now, we’re just putting on proverbial crime scene gear and staring like Dexter.
@hacks4pancakes Every year I try out new languages/tools for Advent of Code. Today is reinforcing the decision, a couple weeks ago, to set up an artisanal dev environment. Only open source tools that can run locally. Just like the old days.
