People who listen to audio books - please help!

What do you do with your eyes/hands when listening?

I'm trying my first audiobook and finding the experience very odd. If I try to read something, I can't concentrate on the audio, if I close my eyes I drift off to sleep, if I play a game it is too distracting.

About to take a 9 hour flight so need a strategy!
