Argh, the car park opposite my flat has a faulty generator / ventilation system *again* and is making such a loud racket that it will be impossible to sleep normally, so I'm going to have to sleep in the hall with all the doors closed tonight. 😢 😠

(the operator refuses to come out and fix it and environmental health say it's not their problem)

Ugh, feeling rough after having to sleep on the floor last night. Car park ventilation is still going at full blast, so loud I won't be able to take calls in the day. I don't understand how there is nothing I can do about this - the council never respond to an environmental health report and the police say it's a matter for the council.

Going to buy a camp bed today so I can at least have a mattress and be elevated.

@pwaring Is there a co-working space near you which would at least allow you to get away for a bit?

Otherwise, can you quietly encourage some civil disobedience to silence the ventilation system?

@kinnison @pwaring large stick in the fan should stop it, probably non destructively, because it'll trip

Not encouraging or condoned obv ;-)

@falken @kinnison That would work if you could actually get as far as the fan. 😀

(the generator is underground, as is the ventilation, all I can hear is the noise coming out of the vents)

Follow

@pwaring @kinnison "sorry officer, I thought that was the bin when I emptied my pockets into the vent. String? Yes, I always carry unrolled string, very handy"
