As someone who likes to tinker with my presentations until shortly before I give it, I struggle quite badly with events where I can't use my own computer, or at least use a hosted version of my presentation, when I present.
(I appreciate why an organiser might want to have all the slides stored locally, ahead of time. I get it. I just don't like it!)
@neil @skylar at the events where we ask for slides in advance, its just in case the presenters machine breaks, is allergic to the projector etc. 99% of the time tweaking at the last minute is OK at #maccSciBar ;-)

I absolutely can do "here's a tarball containing my presentation; it works fine in Firefox, so please have that installed", so it is not the end of the world, but it is irritating.
