One of the nicest things about Mastodon so far is having a very scientific and academia focused feed where I can discover and follow those working in fields where I don't have a background.
It is wonderful for seeing the diversity of research and being inspired by the works of others.
@EllisCrawford do you have any advice on how find them? I feel like in a massive forest with so many amazing things to discover, but no sense of direction whatsoever.
@firipu I've been following as many people as possible at the moment, boosting introductions and frequently checking science hashtags.
The best bit of advice that I read was that as there isn't an algorithm, it is down to the user. So follow and boost frequently - can always unfollow later if needed.
