Reminder: Creative Commons licenses are a non-exclusive granting of specific permissions. Just because something is available under CC doesnโ€™t mean itโ€™s not available for commercial licensing, and it also doesnโ€™t mean that a commercial license of a CC work needs to abide by the same CC terms!

@fluffy Valid. But should be pointed out that only the original author holds the right to commercialize. CC does not grant that right to others except if it lacks the share alike and no commercial properties.

@freemo Right, I'm just saying that something being under BY-NC-SA doesn't mean you can't reach out to the content creator about getting a commercial license. That the CC license is a *default* grant, separate from a *negotiated* grant.
