lololol someone just called me (and apparently everyone on QOTO) a racist for saying our instance's policy is to treat all races and nationality by the exact same standard... I must have slept a lot longer than I realized because when I went to sleep the definition of racism was WAY different."
Apparently this is what he posted as "proof" that me and QOTO are racist fascists. You seriously can't make this shit up. No one has ever even reported a single one of our members for racism.
@freemo I’ve been doing some research and it’s actually not OK to be white.
@Jurassicnps haha, good to know
@freemo it’s not a joke
@Jurassicnps The irony is that if your serious then that makes it MORE of a joke, not less of one.
But on a serious note telling someone it is not ok for being born a certain way, particularly of a certain race, will not be tolerated around here.
@freemo race is a social construct, not a biological one.
@Jurassicnps Well there is certainly some truth to that. But those social constructs give us our heritage and culture. So even if it is social constructed it doesnt make the heritage any less important.
@freemo knowing your “heritage” is a privilege that is denied to billions because of oppression, exploitation and genocide... Much of which was caused either directly or indirectly by white supremacy. White supremacy has decimated cultures and peoples on every continent on earth, and not knowing its history or propaganda techniques is incredibly dangerous. The dangers of white supremacy should be examined with the weight if its historical cost to humanity.
@EndlessWario @Jurassicnps By that logic the exact same argument can be made of people who describe them selves as black. Personally I'd rather not give someone a hard time because of how generalized their identity happens to be.
@freemo @EndlessWario @Jurassicnps Omg it's not the same. To some extent, white immigrants retained (at the very least) our family names so we do have some idea of our the cultural communities of their ancestors.
@freemo @EndlessWario @Jurassicnps African Americans were stripped of whatever country's culture they could have. They literally can't trace their ancestry, hence 'black culture'. Please be smarter than you're letting on.
@freemo @Jurassicnps see no, because african americans have a shared history of forced servitude and discrimination, forcibly stripped of their home and culture. Not true for white people
