@Algot Well if they are known spam then they get autoblocked and it never rings. If they are spam but not reported as such yet then it shows you the text version of what they say in real time. If it indicates a spam call then you can click "report spam" and they will get a recording to remove your number, they are reported to the database as spam and autoblocked in the future. Furthermore since the conversation is recorded if they call you again then they are automatically reported as not complying with law.
@Algot I dnt use a landline for exactly that reason. I prefer all my voicemail converted to text too.

Sadly, the main spam magnet is my landline phone and it does not have apps like that.
